Sight Unseen, Issue #035 Turn The Other Cheek January 22, 2005 |
Jesus said in Matthew 5:39 But I tell you, don't resist an evildoer. On the contrary, if anyone slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. How did Jesus react to being slapped on the cheek? In the book of John we read 8:22When He had said these things, one of the temple police standing by slapped Jesus, saying, "Is this the way you answer the high priest?" 18:23 "If I have spoken wrongly," Jesus answered him, "give evidence about the wrong; but if rightly, why do you hit Me?" If someone insults you or yells at you and you react by saying something like "I'll pray for you," what affect does that have on the upset person. It has a tendency to calm him or her down and it also embarrasses them. Someone influenced by drugs or unclean spirits would probably become more enraged because they want to fight or argue. If you yell back at someone who yelled at you, this usually escalates into a yelling match and possibly an exchange of blows. If you give a gentle answer to an upset person, this usually has the affect of calming that person down. So what does Anton Lavey say about turning the other cheek? Satanic statement #5 - Satan represents vengeance, instead of turning the other cheek! If everyone followed that principle, we would all be dead. The terrorists that bombed the World Trade Center all came from Saudi Arabia. Following the satanic principle of exacting vengeance then the United States would have had to bomb a city in that country taking at least 3,000 lives of innocent men, women, and children. If they made a mistake and killed a few more, then Saudi Arabia would have to retaliate. Eventually, no one would be left. Ironically, this is exactly what is going to happen during the tribulation period when the world puts Satan on the throne. Matthew 24:22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened. Satanic wisdom is nothing but foolishness, yet the whole world follows him with the only exception being those who follow Christ. What do you think would have happened if one of the temple police had struck the anti-Christ on the cheek had it been him instead of Jesus?
