---------The Jackalope----------

On my web page Cryptozoology The Study of Rare Creatures and The Bible, I mention such legends as Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster, The Jersey Devil, and Chupacabra. One of the rarest and deadliest creatures to be found on planet Earth was not even acknowledged. Yes, I neglected to mention the Jackalope.

What is a Jackalope? It's a cross between a killer rabbit and a pygmy deer. By the way, pygmy deers are now extinct. Probably due to cross breeding. You know what they say about rabbits and the reproductive cycle.

Why God allowed these killer rabbits on the Ark is beyond me...about as mind boggling as allowing black widows and cobras on the ark. There have been tales about this fierce creature known as the Jackalope. No one has ever taken a photo of a Jackalope and survived to publish the pictures. Oh yes, you will see a few pictures circling on the Internet, but those are obviously fake.

Legends abound about this curious but elusive creature...and if you do a search for Jackalope at Google you will find a whole web ring devoted to this mythical creature. You know the common picture of the devil is of a red man that has horns and a tail carrying a pitchfork....I'll wager that he probably looks much more like a killer rabbit with antlers. Just imagine the horror of a child wanting to pet that cute looking rabbit with horns only to discover the rabbit wants to mantle the child on his horns. Only the devil does things like that.

Did you know that a Jackalope was featured in a Monty Python movie? In the movie Monty Python and The Holy Grail, a killer rabbit sans the antlers was featured. Why didn't the film crew show the antlers? Well, no one has filmed a Jackalope in its true form and lived to show the pictures. The film crew edited the antlers out for their own protection. (There is a rumor that some of the killer rabbit death scenes were not acted).

If you see a Jackalope on your next excursion to the midwest, do not stop to pet it. Do not attempt to photograph it. Just run! You'll live to see another day.

Now some people will read this account of the legendary Jackalope and will swear that its true. Yet, the most documented figure in history is Jesus Christ and many people refuse to believe in Him. Which proves that the strangest creature of all is man.

1 John 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

In John's letter to the church, he says he is writing these things that we may know we have eternal life. If you ask someone if they are going to heaven when they die and they answer, "I hope so..I've tried to be a good person...I haven't killed anybody." Chances are they are not going to heaven. Since the only way into Heaven is to trust and believe in the Son of God, you should know whether or not you are heaven bound. When someone asks if you are going, your honest answer would be "yes" or "no".
