Sight Unseen, Issue #033 9 Satanic Statements Pt. 4 December 09, 2004 |
-------The Nine Satanic Statements Pt.4------ Satanic statement number 4 reads: Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates! According to Anton Lavey, the very essence of evil represents kindness to those who deserve it. How do you determine who deserves acts of kindness? Do you act kindly only toward the ones that are kind to you? What if they are waiting for you to be kind to them before they will be nice to you? The phrase "Scratch my back and I will scratch yours" is implied in the 4th satanic statement. What does God say about being kind? Mark 12 28 One of the scribes approached. When he heard them debating and saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked Him, "Which commandment is the most important of all?" 29 "This is the most important," Jesus answered: Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. 31 "The second is: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." God said to love your neighbor as yourself. Who is your neighbor? It's everyone on planet Earth. We are not to wait for someone to be kind to us so we can reciprocate the act. We are to be the first ones to smile, the first ones to offer assistance if we see the need for it, and we are not to get involved in heated arguments and violent acts. What did Anton Lavey mean by "love wasted on ingrates"? If you do something nice for someone and they don't even say, "Thank you", I suppose that would make them an ingrate. Does that mean that you will never do anything for that person again for the rest of their lives? According to the 4th satanic statement that is exactly what it means. If you are a true satanist and strived to live by the satanic code all of your life, then you would be living a life carrying a grudge against everyone. Ask a satanist if he or she has a chip on their shoulder against everyone. Chances are very good that they would not. They would have friends who are also satanists. Surely one of those friends have failed to say thank you at some point in their friendship. If the satanist continues to carry on their friendship, then that means the satanist would have forgiven their neighbor. That would make the satanist a hypocrite. That reminds me of the old story about the man who was invited to go to church by his neighbor. The man refused arguing that only hypocrites attended church services. The neighbor replied, "Well, if you come there will be one more." The fact is that no one keeps all the laws and commandments of any worship service or any governmental law for that matter. That makes everyone a hypocrite. We can only strive to do and be our best. If anyone tried to live their lives according to satanic statement number 4, then their lives would become a living hell.
