Sight Unseen, Issue #031 9 Satanic Statements Pt. 2 November 11, 2004 |
-------------News-------------- Did Jesus go to the cross to pay the penalty for the sin of lions? I hardly think so. Yet, a man in Taiwan jumped into a lion's den at the Taipei Zoo to convert two lions at the zoo to Christianity. He was bitten in the leg for his efforts. Had the lions not been fed earlier in the day, he would have probably been killed. This man is obviously one scoop of ice cream short of a milk shake. I wonder if he has ever read the book of Daniel? If he had, then he would have known that Daniel did not jump into the lion's den. He was thrown into the lion's den. Source: www.msnbc.msn.com/ It seems that the Anglican (Episcopalian) church leaders in Africa don't think too much of ordaining men who love men as priests. They are refusing to send their priests to the western culture to train because they believe that the Bible teaches that homosexuality is sinful and has no place in the life of a Christian. I totally agree with them. Source: www.cnsnews.com
-------The Nine Satanic Statements Pt. 2------ The second satanic statement is "Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams". If you are a follower of Anton Lavey's (author of the Satanic Bible) satanism, then you would have to believe that anything that is related to God is nothing but myth. A primary motivating factor for Anton Lavey to become a Satanist was that he blamed God for all the atrocities he had witnessed. Anton Lavey worked for the San Francisco police force as a crime photographer and saw the evil that man could inflict upon fellow man. He kept hearing the statement, "It was God's will". This angered Lavey so much that his twisted logic held God responsible for all the violent and evil acts he was photographing. This seed eventually led to the creation of the Church of Satan. If Anton Lavey would have spent time reading the Holy Bible, he would have understood the source of much of the evil he was witnessing. The Holy Bible states, "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 It is because of mankind's sinful nature that we saw and will continue to see man do evil to his fellow man. Satan seduced mankind into becoming a sinful creature but it is man himself who is responsible for the acts he commits. Anton's mistake was that he blamed God for evil instead of the true source of evil which is sin. Instead of turning to God to help him understand how mankind could be so bad, he embraced Satan who is the author of all the bad things he had witnessed. Lavey's statement that "Satan represents vital existence" is a gross misunderstanding of who Satan is. Lavey viewed Satan as a being who just wanted to do his own thing and nothing more. Lavey created the Church Of Satan primarily so he could indulge in his own sexual fantasies. This "church" thrived in the 60's and 70's but now that Anton Lavey is dead, this "church" is struggling to survive. Is Christianity a "pipe dream" as Lavey asserts? First of all the whole basis of Christianity is the fact that God took the form of a man who was called Jesus. This God/man lived a life without sin which enabled him to become the sacrifice that would atone for all of man's sin for all of eternity. He was crucified, buried, and then arose from the grave three days later. He appeared to over 500 witnesses at one time. He transformed a group of discouraged, fearful, and hopeless men into the most courageous and bold men who ever lived. Their belief in Christ changed the entire history of the world. The life, death, and resurrection is of Jesus Christ is the most well documented case in all of the annals of history. We have more evidence that Jesus existed and spent His life just as He claimed than we have evidence that Alexander the Great was a mighty war General of Greece. Strictly from a secular point of view, calling Jesus Christ a "pipe dream" totally ignores all of the historical evidence. A true historian, although he may not accept Christ as God, would have to conclude that Jesus Christ really did exist. Lavey is guilty of what most people who are alive on this planet today are guilty of: denying God's existence and blaming Him for everything that goes wrong without ever picking up a Bible and reading it. Christianity is all about faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) In order to please God, you must believe that He is because it is impossible to do so without faith. (Hebrews 11:6) Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17) The Holy Bible is the word of God. There is no way to have faith in God if you don't ever hear the word. By labeling Christianity a "spiritual pipe dream", Lavey is taking the stance of the only unforgivable sin in the Bible. God cannot forgive blaspheming against the Holy Spirit because that is simply rejecting Christ. If you reject Christ, then there is no way you can have your sins washed away by His shed blood. God will not excuse Lavey because of his ignorance. He lived in the United States therefore he had access to a bible and he also had free access to go into any Christian church and hear the word of God proclaimed. I wonder if Lavey thinks Christianity is still a "spiritual pipe dream"? Copyright 2004 by Gary Goodworth
