--------Peace in the Mideast?-------

What is it that the citizens of Israel want the most? The answer would be peace. Like everyone else, they just want to live their lives without having to worry about bombs going off or being shot. They are a weary people tired of all the persecution.

However, they have a major problem. A spiritual being that the church calls Satan wants them to become extinct.

Have you ever noticed that when Israel suffers from a terrorist attack that the world blames Israel for it? It is like saying the terrorist attacks that occurred in the United States on September 11, 2000 was the fault of the United States.

Can you imagine the world telling the USA that if you would just give Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida to the Arabs then you wouldn't have to worry about terrorism?

It would be insane yet the world expects the nation of Israel to follow insane peace treaties.

This is a quote from an Arab named Al Afisi. "Allah states in the Quran that the hostility between us and the Jew is eternal. So whoever talks about dialogue – cut off his tongue! What dialogue are they talking about?! There is no room for dialogue. Allah said that our hostility towards the Jews is eternal, and then along comes someone and talks about brotherhood and so on ... Our government is constantly putting pressure on Israel to give up land for peace. It is a peace deal that will never result in peace because the Arab world does not want peace with Israel. They want Israel to cease to exist. They view any ally of Israel as an enemy of Allah. That is why they hate the United States so much. However, scripture is clear that the United States will cease to be a friend of Israel. The old saying that goes "with friends like this who needs enemies?" can be applied to the United States in regards to its relations with Israel.

However, the United States is included in the statement "all nations" in this prophetic scripture: "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city." Zech. 14:2

This clearly shows that Jerusalem is going to be the focal point of the world in the days just before the return of Christ. We already see it happening in the world of today.

We know from scripture that one day in the near future Israel will think they have finally achieved peace by confirming a peace agreement with a man they believe is their Messiah but will find out the hard way that they were wrong. When you make deals with the devil, you get burned.

"For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." 1 Thess. 5:3

This verse will apply to the whole world. However, there will be a remnant of Israel who will be spared during this time.

What lies ahead in Israel in what should be the very near future?

First, according to Ezekiel the prophet, Russia will lead a coalition of Arab nations into an invasion of Israel for the purpose of "taking a spoil" and God Himself will destroy most of the invading armies and it will take seven months just to bury the dead. It is uncertain if this will occur before or after the rise of Antichrist. This leads me to believe that Israel will soon become very wealthy and the envy of the world. It is very possible they will find a large oil reserve in their land or it could be something they invent that leads to their great prosperity. Time will reveal the details.

Second, Israel will agree to a peace treaty with Satan's ambassador because they will have been tricked into believing this man is the Messiah. They will realize their mistake when, as Jesus said, "But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:"

This man of sin will sit in Jerusalem's rebuilt temple claiming he is Christ. This is when the Jewish people will realize they have put their faith in a liar and this man of evil will do his best to destroy Israel at this time.

In fact, Satan sends a flood of some kind to destroy Israel but God protects them. "And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth." Rev. 12:15 and 16.

The woman in these verses is referring to Israel.

Israel desires peace above all else and will even make a deal with the devil to get it but they will not ever truly experience peace until Christ returns and sets up His earthly kingdom whereby Israel will become a blessing to all the nations of the world. Keep your eye on Israel.
