The Future of Egypt February 20, 2011 |
-------The Future of Egypt------- The recent events in Egypt regarding the Egyptian public forcing President Hosni Mubarak to step down as president has the world wondering what is going to happen next in the Middle East. Personally, I believe the Muslim Brotherhood will come to power in Egypt and Israel will have yet another enemy to deal with. You must understand that the goal of Islam is the extinction of Israel first, then Christians. Islam wants the whole world to be subject to their Sharia law. However, Islam is forgetting one thing. Allah is not God, Jesus Christ is, a point they vehemently deny. What does the Bible tell us about the near future of Egypt and the ultimate future of Egypt? Keep in mind, that many prophecies in scripture have a double fulfillment. What happened in the past will be repeated but with a different set of players. Isaiah 19 tells us "2 "I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; Everyone will fight against his brother, And everyone against his neighbor, City against city, kingdom against kingdom. 3 The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers. 4 And the Egyptians I will give Into the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king will rule over them," Says the Lord, the Lord of hosts. " First of all this country will become a nation divided. Because of all the trouble they are experiencing, they will turn to idols and mediums and sorcerers for help. Ultimately, they will find help at "the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king". I believe this is a reference to the coming Antichrist. Could the Antichrist be a Muslim? If he is, he will somehow have gained the trust of Israel so that remains to be seen. The goal of the Antichrist will be to exterminate Jews and Christians and the Koran of Islam states if a Muslim is unable to convert a Jew or Christian to Islam, then that Jew or Christian should be killed. Which means Islam and the Antichrist have the same goal. That should give you a clue as to who the true god of Islam really is. Egypt is going to become an enemy of Israel. This will result in the land of Egypt becoming desolate. This is what Isaiah prophesies about Egypt "5 The waters will fail from the sea, And the river will be wasted and dried up. 6 The rivers will turn foul; The brooks of defense will be emptied and dried up; The reeds and rushes will wither. 7 The papyrus reeds by the River, by the mouth of the River, And everything sown by the River, Will wither, be driven away, and be no more. 8 The fishermen also will mourn; All those will lament who cast hooks into the River, And they will languish who spread nets on the waters. 9 Moreover those who work in fine flax And those who weave fine fabric will be ashamed; 10 And its foundations will be broken. All who make wages will be troubled of soul." The economy of Egypt will completely collapse. The rivers will dry up. There will be no fishing or clothes making and water will be very hard to come by. There is a very high price to pay when you declare Israel as your enemy because Israel is the apple of God's eye and Israel is where Jesus Christ is going to rule and reign when He returns. Why Israel? Why not somewhere else? Because Jerusalem is the geographic center of the Earth. Jesus gave His life for all sinners at the center of the Earth and He will rule from the center of the Earth. The near future of Egypt looks very bleak but the outlook for this country is very bright after all the trouble they are going to experience. Egypt will become an ally of Israel. Islam will be a dead religion. In fact, Islam will be no more as will all false religions. Isaiah goes on to tell us, "17 And the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt; everyone who makes mention of it will be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts which He has determined against it. 18 In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear by the Lord of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction. 19 In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border. 20 And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. 21 Then the Lord will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the Lord and perform it. 22 And the Lord will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the Lord, and He will be entreated by them and heal them. 23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria--a blessing in the midst of the land, 25 whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance." Egypt will become fearful of Israel and what the God of Israel is capable of. Five cities will speak the Jewish language and one of those cities will be called the City of Destruction. This tells us that one of the cities in Egypt will suffer much damage but the city is not identified. Could it be Cairo? Only time will tell. Apparently, Egypt grows tired of the evil rule of the Antichrist and cries out to God who will send them a Savior (Jesus Christ) and a Mighty One (He has all the power of God at His disposal), and He (Jesus Christ) will deliver them. The Lord will heal Egypt and will even call Egypt "My people". Egypt, Assyria, and Israel will be at peace with one another. They will visit one another and travel from country to country freely without fear. The world wants peace in the Middle East but that is not going to happen now because Islam does not want peace they want chaos. The Middle East, and the whole world, will experience true peace when the King of Kings and Lord of Lords returns because He is called the Prince of Peace. This is when the nations "shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore." Isa 2:4 May that time come soon. Copyright 2011 by Gary Goodworth
