-------Destination Truth ------- There are a glut of shows on the Sy Fy channel that have teams of investigators looking into hauntings and trying to find elusive mythological creatures. Destination Truth has a team globe hopping around the world trying to prove the existence of creatures of mythology and local legends. The journey itself and the cultures they encounter are sometimes more interesting than the actual investigations themselves. Seldom do they come up with any evidence to prove a creature unknown before actually exists. Sometimes their investigations leave the team with more questions than answers. It is when the team looks into sites that are supposedly haunted that unexplained things actually do happen. A spirit world does exist but ghost investigators make a false assumption when they investigate hauntings. They always assume the things that move and the things that go bump in the night are caused by restless spirits of people who have died sometime in the past. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Bible states, "27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die , but after this the judgment." Hebrews Chapter 9 When a human dies, the body goes into the ground and the spirit and soul return to God. That spirit and soul will either go to a place of rest or a place of torment until their bodies are ressurrected. There is no in between spirit world and there is no purgatory. These beliefs are manmade and not taught in scripture. The most dangerous things these investigators of the paranormal do is try to make contact with the spirits. They do an EVP session in the middle of the night to try and make contact with a supposed spirit of someone who has passed on. Usually this person has died in a violent manner. Wikiepedia defines an EVP as "Electronic voice phenomena (EVP) are electronically generated noises that resemble speech, but are supposedly not the result of intentional voice recordings or renderings. Common sources of EVP include static, stray radio transmissions, and background noise. Recordings of EVP are often created from background sound by increasing the gain (i.e. sensitivity) of the recording equipment." I've seen and heard many of the EVP playbacks and I am convinced they prove nothing and are mostly just a waste of time. However, when these "ghost hunters" are doing an EVP session sometimes they will be attacked by forces unseen. They assume it is a malevolent spirit and they are correct because they are dabbling with demons. Demonic spirtis can imitate and I'm sure they imitate people who have passed on. The Bible has a clear warning about trying to contact the dead. Deuteronomy Chapter 18 "10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer . 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee." A consulter with a familiar spirit is just another name for a medium. The definition of a necromancer is someone who "inquires of the dead". God calls people who practice these things an "abomination". From God's point of view, someone who does an EVP session to inquire of the dead is just as sinful as someone who practices homosexuality. There are a couple of reasons that I can think of that make "ghost hunters" so spiritually dangerous to the world. One reason is that they are unwittingly opening gateways into our world for powerful demonic forces. The book of Revelation clearly teaches that hell will be literally unleashed on Earth during a seven year period of time known as the tribulation. I wonder if those gates have already been opened. The other reason is there is no truth to be found in these EVP sessions. Only deception can result. The primary weapon Satan uses is deception. He did it with Adam and Eve and he is still doing it today. These investigations into the paranormal lead people into believing things that are not true. Some of those beliefs include a false idea about death and a false idea about creation. The spirits of dead people do not roam around an ethereal world needing guidance to go to the light. Their destination is instantaneous at the point of death Occultism leads people to believe in evolution instead of the Biblical creation account. Isaiah warned, "19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep , and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead ?" Chapter 8 I don't find fault in Destination Truth trying to prove the existence of creatures of legend because all countries seem to have stories and eyewitness accounts of creatures that are just not seen on a daily basis. I don't really find fault in trying to document a location to see if unexplained phenomena actually do happen in that location. I do find fault when they do a night investigation and try to contact the spirit world because deception is right around the corner. The show is titled Destination Truth. If they really wanted to know the truth, all they would have to do is open up their Bibles. Jesus said of Himself, "32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John Chapter 8 Jesus was referring to what He would do to free man from the bondage of sin when He laid His life down to bear the penalty of our sin. Jesus said if you put your trust in Him then, "36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." The world rejects the Bible. Therefore they reject truth. When truth is rejected, then all that remains is a lie. Destination Truth should change its name. It should be called Destination Deception. Copyright 2012 by Gary Goodworth
