The United States is in trouble, big trouble. Not so long ago, the United States of America was the most powerful country on Earth. It still is a powerful nation, but its days as a world power player are numbered. The country that I call home has problems that seem to be insurmountable.

What has happened to this once great nation? The founding fathers of our country based the Constitution, the document that forms the basis on how our government is supposed to function, on biblical precepts and laws. They understood this would work only if the citizens based their lives on biblical precepts and laws. This is why you could the find Bible being taught in all universities and most schools. You cannot base a life on a biblical precept unless the precept is known.

The Bible has been tossed out of the public school arena in the name of separation of church and state which is not even in the Constitution. Today's students believe this book we call the Bible to be irrelevant to life. An example of this can found in the Sunday, July 10th Doonesbury comic strip. This comic depicts a college professor espousing on "the overwhelming scientific evidence of evolution" while making fun of people who believe the stories of the Bible.

A group of people who do not subscribe to the precepts and laws as taught by the Bible cannot be governed by a constitution based on those precepts and laws. The result is anarchy. Since the Bible is no longer being taught in our schools, our nation has begun reap what it has been sowing. Our constitution cannot work unless the citizens strive to live moral lives. Immorality is the result of a nation that is being taught evolution instead of creation.

A recent Gallup poll states that only 3 out of 10 Americans take the Bible literally. An astounding 70% of the population believes the Bible to be a work of fiction or just a collection of wise sayings and good moral stories.. According to the Bible, salvation is only granted to those who believe and trust in Jesus Christ. If you don't believe the Bible literally, then there will be no salvation experience, This means that 70% of Americans are children of the devil and all carry one way tickets to hell and don't even know it. A very sobering thought for a nation who based its founding laws on biblical principles.

Ironically, the more educated a person is, the less likely that person will be to take the Bible as literal truth. Paul talked about these people in Romans Chapter 1, "21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful ; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened . 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools ,".

From Paul's point of view, the more educated a person is in worldly things, the bigger fool he becomes. We can see the results of this foolishness in what is happening to the United States.

An article written on the theeconomiccollapseblog.com gave 20 negative things that the United States leads the world in. Let's examine some of them.

America has the largest prison population in the world. This can be traced to the destruction of the family and not obeying God's laws as outlined in the scriptures. You get a group of young people who never go to church, who are brought up in homes that are broken and by parents who never open a Bible, and they are not even exposed to the biblical precepts or right and wrong at a public school because the Bible cannot be taught, you end up with a bunch of criminals. These young people become a tax burden on the populace at large because they are being fed and sheltered in prisons instead of becoming contributors to society. So many lives are wasted because of this.

When you are being taught the concept of evolution, you are also being taught there is no right or wrong. This is but one fruit of not teaching the Bible.

Our country has the most obese people in the world. This is just a polite way of saying we overeat and watch too much TV. We have become a nation of lazy gluttons. "21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags." Proverbs 23:21

No other country in the world has a divorce rate as high as our country has. People have become selfish and get divorced under the flimsiest of excuses. The principle for marriage as outlined in the Bible is that husband and wife are to be joined together until death separates them. Not only do we have the highest divorce rate in the world, five states have now legalized marriage between homosexuals proving that this country no longer operates under the guidance of biblical laws and precepts. Anything goes now.

Eighty-nine per cent of the world's internet porn sites are produced in the United States and most of those are produced in San Fernando Valley, California. Eighty-nine dollars is spent every second worldwide on pornography. The most visited porn site is Adult Friend Finder, a site that promotes sexual relationships between both married and unmarried people. This means the USA no longer operates on the guidelines of "Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery" as it is now the principle promoter of this sin.

The United States is the number one drug user in the world. This is both legal and illegal drugs. If you can't get high on the spirit of God, you will get high on something else. That something else becomes the substitute for a relationship with God and that relationship comes only through the Son, Jesus. The drugs fill the void that is left behind when there is no relationship with the Creator.

Finally, the United States has accumulated the largest national debt the world has ever seen and it is rapidly getting worse. The debt is expanding at $40,000 every second. As you can see, this country is finished as a world power and does not yet know it. The problem is that if we collapse, so do other countries because we have become a global economy. Is there any hope for America? Only one: 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray , and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Kind of difficult to humble yourself and pray and seek God and turn from your wicked way when you have kicked the Bible out of the land.
