Banner of God April 05, 2009 |
-------Banner of God------- This issue is in response to this statement, "We must unify under the banner of God, these details may wait until later, the battle for souls has a priority far above our squalor. The Catholic Zealot." What is the goal of this statement? It is to unify "under the banner of God". The question is what god? Are all gods the same? It is assumed there is only one God but much of the world believes that God to be Allah. I can tell you without a doubt that Allah is not my God nor do I believe that Allah is even God at all. The fact is all Christians who truly are Christians (they have experienced a spiritual rebirth and have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) are already united as one. There is only one body (all the believers) one head (Jesus Christ) and one faith. How do you unite something that is already united? The declaration that we must unify under God has sinister undertones behind it. The Zealot claims we should "unify under the banner of God" and "these details may wait until later". What details? Details such as should we or should we not confess our sins to a priest and the fact that Christians are in a "positive competition" with Islam to try and "save as many souls as possible". The most violent and bloodiest wars in history were fought "under the banner of God". We know from scripture that the worst religious war is yet to come. It will be Satan who gathers the armies of the world to oppose Christ when He returns. Can the religion of Islam actually save souls? Why should Christianity unite with Islam? Are we really in a positive competition to save the souls of men? What does the scriptures say? "10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4 I think that is pretty clear...there is no other name under heaven which a man can be saved except that of Jesus Christ. Do the people of Islam believe in Jesus as their savior? No. Are they preaching Christ and Him crucified? No. To the Islamic mind, Jesus is nothing more than a prophet of Allah. The scriptures identify Jesus as God Himself so how can Islam be involved in a "friendly competition" with Christians to save the souls of men? I point all of this out to bring to surface what is the most troubling about the Catholic Zealot's statement. It shows that the religions of the world are going to be united into a one world religion. This is a satanic movement but it also shows the rebellious nature of man against God. A study of Revelation Chapter 13 shows that there is coming a man upon the world scene who will claim to be God or the Messiah or the Anointed One. "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him. whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." There is an exception to this worldwide group of worshipers. If your name is written in the book of the Lamb, then you will not be among those worshiping the false Messiah. In fact, the person you will be worshiping is the devil. This is a profound spiritual truth. All men are God's creation but no one is born a child of God. We are born in sin. Our nature is to sin. We have a natural inclination to shun God. Only when we stop rejecting God and accept His gift of pardon (Christ crucified) do we become children of God and we are adopted children at that. The zealot did point out one thing that is true, "The Roman Catholic faith has made many mistakes in the past, due to a lack of piety in popes however; at least they have not made such fools of the entire Christian faith as many protestant groups do." This is simply because we have a world of people who legally belong to Satan trying to play church. The apostate Christianity that exists in the Protestant church today is making the Christian faith look like fools. False doctrines and doctrines of devils abound in both the Protestant and Catholic churches. No wonder our youth are so confused and no wonder they shun church altogether. Why is all of this happening? One factor is that no one reads anymore. We have become a media driven society. What makes someone like me different from your average Christian? The average Christian never spends time studying and reading the Bible so how are they going to know false doctrine from sound doctrine? They turn on the tv and see some preacher espouse a bunch of nonsense and throw in a scripture or two, and they believe they are hearing truth. If more people studied and read their Bibles, there would be much less nonsense espoused in our churches and much more accountability happening. The disciples trained under Jesus for three years before he sent them out into the world. Why? So they would be solidly grounded in doctrine. The people of this world want to do things their own way and they don't want God to interfere so they pretend He isn't there. They invent fairy tales such as we "evolved" from some primordial soup. The religions of the world are going to be united into a one world system teaching "unity in diversity". In other words, whatever path you choose to follow God, it will still get you to heaven. This is exactly what that great deceiver known as Satan wants the world to believe because he is the one that wants to be worshiped as God. "We must unify under the banner of God" is simply another way of saying we must get the world religions to unite so we can have peace. However, without Christ, there is no peace. There is coming a peace and "all the world wondered after the beast" and everything will seem great and wonderful. Then all hell breaks loose. "For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." 2 Thess. 5:3 What are we to be doing as Christians? 15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16 This is how you unify the world under the banner of God.
