2009 Predictions

Every year prognosticators, psychics, and astrologists try to predict what will happen in the coming year. Sometimes they are right and many times they are wrong. Their predictions are nothing more than educated guesswork.

There is a book that has a 100% accuracy rate in its predictions. It is called the Holy Bible. Many of its prophecies were fulfilled with the first coming of Christ and the rest will be fulfilled with Christ's second coming.

2 Peter 1:19 states, "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:"

This tells us bible prophecy is certain to happen and it also warns us that we do well to listen to it.

Based on what the Bible tells us, what can we expect in the year 2009?

God will continue to build his church. Thousands of people will hear the gospel message that Christ died on the cross to pay their sin debt. and respond to it. They will give Christ a personal invitation to come into their hearts and Christ will respond by putting the Holy Spirit into them.

This is sure to happen. Who are these people that in the year 2008 were children of the devil? Some will be murderers, liars, adulterers, drug addicts, thieves, and devil worshipers. Others will be students, workers, and housewives. They will come from every walk of life and all will become adopted children of God.

This means that a supernatural event will take place in more than one place in the world on a daily basis. That person who has been addicted to meth will overcome that addiction because of divine intervention. A Wiccan will walk away from his or her coven and become a Christian. A murderer will find eternal life before he is executed for his crimes.

The church consists of everyone who has responded to the gospel message. Denominational titles mean absolutely nothing. There is only one thing that could stop this process from continuing. When that last person who makes up the entity called the church responds to the gospel message then God will call his church home.

Old Testament saints and Tribulation saints have a different role in eternity than the church but all will be blessed.

Another thing that will happen in the year 2009 is the name of Jesus Christ will be praised all over the world on a daily basis. A note to Evolutionists: The Bible says we were created by Jesus Christ for His pleasure. It pleases God to hear the name of Jesus Christ being praised. The following verses from Colossians chapter 1 gives us good reason to praise the name of Jesus Christ.

"15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight--"

Anyone who reads the above scriptures after receiving the gift of pardon that Christ offers will praise the name of Christ and God on a daily basis and thank Him for His might provision. After all, who would curse the name of Christ after inheriting eternal life?

Another thing that will happen in 2009 is that Jesus will answer the prayers of His people.

Philippians 4:6 states, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;"

We don't need psychiatrists and psychologists. Those professions are a waste of time and money. We simply need to take all our concerns and cares to God by praying in the name of Jesus Christ and only Jesus Christ. There is no better therapy than that.

Sin is a hindrance to prayer. God will not hear the prayers of one of his children if they have unconfessed sin in their life. God will answer every prayer of one of His children who has first dealt with the sin in his life. Those answers are yes, no, and not yet or wait.

When we were lost, God answered our prayer of salvation immediately. When we ask for healing, sometimes He says "yes" and sometimes He says "no". The "no" answer is for our benefit. When we ask for things like "Thy Kingdom Come" the answer is yes but this is not the time. What most people tend to forget is God is more concerned with our spiritual well being that he is about our physical well being because flesh and blood cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

To sum it up, in 2009 God will continue to build His church, His name will continue to be praised, and He will answer prayers.
